Love. Art. Thieves.

Hey guys I’m sorry for my lack of posts, I just needed some time to recharge and now I will definitely try to get back on track… again!

Lately I fell in love with the Heist Society series by Ally Carter. I’m not gonna write about each book separately but I will give a review for them as a whole.

Overall rating: 4/5.

You know how you always judge books by their covers? Well this is exactly why I didn’t wanna read this series but they still kinda made me curious. I mean… look at this cover:

6574102

You just can’t be attracted to a book that looks like this. And this is just the cover for the first book, I don’t think anyone needs any more details.

So because I can give second chances and a benefit of a doubt, I started reading the first one and could not stop. I love the characters and I love how mature they are. I forget they’re like 15-16 years old! Like how can a 15 year old rob a super safe and secured museum making up a really good plan in a super short time? Most of the 15 year olds play Fortnite so that was not very realistic.

I’m trying to keep this as much spoiler-free as I can but there’s also like a huge drama happening (of course) that might endanger Kat’s dad’s life (Kat is the main character). Of course she solves everything in the end with her squad and there’s a love story starting to sparkle between her and W. W. Hale, the rich and cool one.

In the second book Kat has been conned which was really dangerous because it involves the Cleopatra emerald, she basically steals it for the wrong people and she has to get it back from them but they know any tactic they could approach so it was pretty stressful for everyone (even myself). Long story short, there’s drama between Kat and Hale and a lot of suspense and them being smarter than everybody and we don’t know what Hale’s W. W. stand for!! I love how Kat is always trying to guess them.

Anyways, moving forward, Perfect Scoundrels (book 3) was SO GOOD!!!!This time it has to do with Hale’s family and there’s drama between Hale and Kat again because of course she wants to keep him out of it?! I didn’t like that part. It’s his family and he has all the right to know what’s going on, dear. Now they also have to rob the Henley (the museum from the first book which is even more secured) and a huge bank! I like that they make it a little bit more realistic involving the Interpol and all the travelling and talking about art just adds the perfect details. It involved a lot more complications and the most suspense so far. It has plot twists and a much more developed love story and now there’s family involved too! I think it had all the things I wanted like emotions, plot twists, love story, action and cool characters.

I can’t wait for the 4th book to come out!!

Favorite bookish gadgets

I’m on a hunt for good bookish gadgets for myself so I thought I should share with you my favorite finds! Click on each title to open the amazon page where you can buy them.

THE ENGLISH DICTIONARY BOOKMARK

I just discovered this and I fell in love with it instantly. You also have over 30 thousand of definitions!! That’s so exciting and helpful!

A FOLDED LED BOOK LIGHT

This one’s a pretty impressive addition to any bookworm’s room. It also gives a special effect in pictures for your bookstagram. Can’t wait to get it!

DUAL RECHARGEABLE BOOK LIGHT

I already have this one and I totally recommend it. You can change the brightness of it and it’s so much easier to read now in the dark because it has 2 lights to cover both pages. Less frustrating and more innovative!

THUMB PAGE HOLDER

You know how annoying it is when the book keeps folding, well the guys from Thumb Thing came up with a good idea: a page holder for your thumb.

LED LIGHT MAGNIFYING GLASS FOR BOOKS

If your eyesight is not in the best condition (just like mine), some small fonts could really mess up your reading time, so this magnifying glass could come in handy, especially because it has LED too!

FINGER POINTER BOOKMARK

It’s cool to have a bookmark to know what’s the last page you read but it’s even cooler for that bookmark to have a finger, to indicate even the last row you have read.

POPSLATE E READER PHONE CASE

This is basically a kindle on the back of your phone. It is a pretty interesting concept in my opinion.

IRISCAN WIRELESS BOOK SCANNER

You can have a digital copy of any book you read!

I hope I have been of help with improving your reading life.

Truth or dare…without dare.

Nerve is INSANE. I just watched it at the cinema and I loved it.

Rating: 5/5 stars

When I read the book I stayed up until I finished it because it’s that kind of book that you can’t put down. Everything was so intense and through the end I thought my heart was going to escape my chest.

I can say I missed reading a book that makes me  feel the suspense and how intense it is…and I started reading it after I watched the movie trailer so I was like “shit, this could be a book made for me”.

The thing that keeps you going is the level of difficulty of the dares the Players get. They start with easy ones with an average payment like a few hundred dollars and they go on until they reach thousands and thousands. Now how could’ve I put it down when I was so eager to find out what could the next dare be and how extreme this whole thing could get?

And trust me, it’s getting out of control.

The movie has a great cast tho’…I mean…Dave Franco would fit any movie anyways and you can’t really go wrong with Emma Roberts so this whole thing turned out to be perfect. I wish there would be a sequel.

I started wondering how it would be like if such a thing would happen in real life…if they collect all of my data from the web and form dares for me. It’s awesome that Jeanne Ryan involved all these social networks we use daily in a fiction world. Somehow it brought out how vulnerable we all are in front of the men that make the rules in this society.

I can tell you for sure, Nerve is one crazy ride.
