I constantly add books to my TBR list so I’m going to start writing about why I actually want to read them. I will try to do this for every 5 recent books I add to it.
1. Cari Mora by Thomas Harris.
I’m a huge Thomas Harris fan so how could I miss his new book that is being published soon?? It has thriller, suspense, horror and lots of action! This is going to be one hell of an adventure of a strong female survivor. It has everything a Thomas Harris novel needs.
2. You Owe Me A Murder by Eileen Cook.
This plot seems insane! I loved One of Us is Lying and I’m pretty sure I will love this book too. You don’t hear every day about swapping murders, when you don’t fulfill your end of deal you either have to commit one or just take the fall for one which sounds as creepy as it must be!
3. Regretting You by Colleen Hoover.
I could talk about Colleen Hoover for hours, I love her and she is one of my favorite all-time authors so of course I added her newest book that is going to be published some time next year on my tbr list. I don’t know what is going to be about but I will pray Montlake Romance will put a nice cover on it.
4. Five Feet Apart by Rachel Lippincott.
I’m down for romance novels any time and I got pretty excited when I watched the trailer for the movie especially because Cole Sprouse is in it. I didn’t watch the movie yet because I’m waiting to read the book first which I hope will happen soon.
5. The Umbrella Academy, vol 1: The Apocalypse Suite by Gerard Way.
Besides the fact that Gerard Way is cool, I watched the show not long ago not knowing that actually he was the writer, which makes him cooler. I really liked the show and I’m looking forward to reading the series now.
I put a little thought into this and I hope this year I can blog more.
I hope I will get more ideas of subjects and I aspire to be more creative and paying more attention to it.
Since I just moved to USA a few months ago, I don’t have my own bookshelf yet but I plan on building one as soon as I can with some help from my husband. Gonna try to do that in the time when we’re not planning our wedding (yes, april 22nd is the big day). I found some good ideas on pinterest and I hope I can apply them to my first bookshelf ever. I will probably share the progress on my blog.
I plan on developing my bookstagram skills (which are 0). I don’t have enough merch around the house and I feel like all my ideas are already taken and I can’t bring anything new “to the table” but I’m trying from time to time to take a picture or two of my books just because I like taking pictures of them. I don’t get any bad feedback so that’s good.
I hope I can buy a good camera too for that… and not only for that.
I also thought of starting a youtube channel with bookhauls and book reviews, I find it so much easier to just talk about them freely instead of writing it down, I just can’t make myself do it. I recorded myself once and I enjoyed it but I ended up deleting it just because I’m too self-conscious and I wouldn’t have the guts to upload it. God forbid
anyone I know finds it. I don’t plan on doing it this year necessarily but it’s just a thought I’m throwing in.
Also, another goal this year is to get as many subscription boxes I can and afford. I got my first Owlcrate in December (I’m gonna blog about that too after I take some legit pictures) and I fell in love with it. I definitely want as many as I can now from different brands so if anyone has any recommendations, feel free to let me know.
When it comes to writing, I want to continue writing poems as many as I can and maybe in the future even publish my own poetry book although that seems so impossible to me at this point, I just hope I can make it some time.
2018 books to read:
♥All the Murakami books that are left
♥I also want to finish all the series I started
♥Hopefully this year I will read Catch 22 cause I want to read it so bad!
♥At least one Agatha Christie book per month (I want to read all her books)
♥As many Stephen King books as I can (I also want to read all of them too)
♥Generation One by Pittacus Lore
♥Monster by Michael Grant
♥Without Merit by Colleen Hoover
Does any of you guys have any bookish resolutions for 2018?
Favorite male character.
Just in case you missed me mentioning Colleen Hoover, I can only say that at the moment Will is the best guy out there in the fictional world. If you don’t know what I’m talking about just go read Slammed. You’re gonna fall in love! He’s paying attention and he’s very responsible and super nice, I imagined him looking like Jim Halpert from The Office. They just kinda seemed to be alike… in my opinion. Anyways, he’s got something special that it’s impossible to forget.
Your favorite writer
This one’s difficult. My top favorite writers in no particular order are Lang Leav, Colleen Hoover, Stephen King and Haruki Murakami. Now if you’ve read any of their books (or more) you would understand why I’m so indecisive.
Lang Leav inspires me to write my own poems and she’s the only one that got to my heart through a few words and never forget her and also her books have the cutest covers ever.
Colleen Hoover illuminated me and I realised I love the new adult genre (tho I haven’t read many new adult books). She’s just something else for me and if I’m in the mood for a couple to die for and a great love story she’s my first option.
I love Stephen King for being the only one to give me the creeps. I love that he writes a lot and you always have something to read from him. His horror books are so well balanced that no matter how long they are you won’t ever get bored because he knows how to write so the reader is entertained constantly.
Now Haruki Murakami will always have a special place in my heart for his literature. I’ve read almost all of his books (I’m missing Pinball 1973 and the 1q84 series)but if you want something different and I really mean different. Different like super unique and creative that you have never thought about, go for it. Go read Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World or Kafka on the Shore for starters. I still am extremely impressed by him and I miss reading one of his books cause it always gave me such a nice vibe that I only found in his books. By saying this I might even consider jumping on the 1q84 next.
October’s winner is totally Colleen Hoover’s Slammed. It was everything I wanted in a romance book. The characters are awesome and he reminded me of Jim Halpert from The Office lol.
The story line was catchy and as usual Colleen added original ideas to it and she always knows how to build the conversations and make the reader get attached to the characters no matter how important they are. I literally had a major hangover over it especially after her mom died and I actually felt so sad like I knew her (I know it sounds crazy but when I read, I’m all heart and soul especially if the book is good).
If you’re into this kind of books please start reading it and check out some more of her books like It Ends With Us, Confess or November 9. Let me know what you think of any of them.
I thought I’m gonna have a heart attack or faint or something. THAT’S HOW MUCH I LOVE COLLEEN HOOVER’S BOOKS.
I think it is pretty clear, since this is a Colleen Hoover book, that I’ve read it in a few hours. I found myself in the same situation as “I don’t know what to read, I’m gonna get myself a cup of Colleen Hoover” which turned into 2 cups cause I HAD to read the next one too because I didn’t calm down with it.
I love both Layken and Will. I love Will more though, he kinda reminds me of Jim Halpert’s character from The Office. Always funny and cute and smart.
I was impressed by the idea of slamming. I didn’t know that it is actually a thing, initially I thought Colleen came up with the idea but afterwards I found out that people are actually doing it. And I love it. Also, I think it was awesome that Colleen actually wrote the slams the characters performed and I loooved theeeem!
Colleen has some really awesome ideas, like the glass vase full of life tips stars to help them when they need it the most when they won’t have anyone else besides them and their brothers (and Will’s grandparents).
By the end of the book my chest was aching. Literally. And then I couldn’t stop thinking about them. And then I’ve read the second book. Review to come.
As a conclusion, YES GO READ IT!!
